RCPC Prophet Poet

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God!

I am exalted among the nations;

I am exalted in the earth.

Branches of Winter

A craggy fringe of bare branches

Forming dark silhouettes against the early morning sky.

Trees of winter, stripped of their fall clothing, revealing a stark emptiness.

Exposed and vulnerable as a wounded heart.

But there is beauty in their starkness, a quiet peace and serenity.

These lovely boughs; bare, lonely, tranquil, majestic, divine.

Are they reaching up to God,

Or are they God reaching down to me?
