RCPC Prophet Poet

Jeremiah 6:14

They have treated the wound of my people carelessly,

       saying, “Peace, peace,”

       when there is no peace.

The Jesus Tree

He carried the cross amid the people

-165 pounds of cedar, cypress, pine and olive.

The crowds who believed, and those who chastised him

-parading with palm branches and singing.

His arms outstretched on branches of the cross

-two meters wide with palms tied down.

The upright cypress beam carried on his back

-for all to see, for all to cheer and jeer...and feel.

The cross, bloody and tear stained- three to four meters high-

raised on a mound of a nearby hill among thieves.

Secured in the dirt, the same soil from whence our life began,

The Jesus Tree.
