Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Give it to God. If I had a dollar for every time I have said or heard that in my life, I would have $253. Seriously though, God tells us to give it all to Him. Give Him the worry, doubt, fear, sorrow, anger, pain; every ounce and we will find peace. In James 4:7 we are told “so give yourselves completely to God.” How is that possible? How are we meant to do this? Simply put…Break.

Allow yourself to break. Release yourself of the things you have attached your worth to. Accept that you alone are not strong. Jesus tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:8, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” If I am counting my dollars correctly, I would have another $768 for every time I have heard, “you are so strong,” being said to those experiencing hardship.

Accept that we are beautifully yet simply made, nothing more than a body and a soul. As Isaiah goes on, the Lord states, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts and my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” It is those words that convince me as to why we can only use 10% of our brain capacity. The other 90% is all God. If we silence the 10% and lean into God, imagine the possibilities, prosperity, joy, and peace!

We were never created to do this life on our own. In believing such, we become the wicked ones. We allow ourselves to hear, say, and then repeat, throughout generations, words that are hollow without context. I challenge you to no longer recognize someone’s strength; remind them and appreciate their ability to break in front of the Lord and allow His power to thrive in them. Allow yourself to do the same. Allow God to water your earth; for in his salvation we are never thirsty.

Prayer: “Oh God, silence my mind, slow my heart, and awaken my soul. I give you my flesh. I am no longer pretending that I can do this life without you. In good and bad, this too shall pass. What never passes is your love for me, your compassion, your mercy, and your grace. God I am on my knees for you. I am releasing all that I have built up around me thinking that I got this. I don’t. I know, in my bones, that you do. Without you I am lost. Only through you am I found. Hear me. Lead me. Carry me. With you I am filled, never thirsty or famished. It is in you I am made whole. Amen.”
