Our 2025 Lenten sermon series, “The Original Tortured Poets,” is a play on the Taylor Swift album title – “The Tortured Poets Department.” The original tortured poets were the prophets of Israel and Judah. Like any great poet, their words hold power; their vivid language speaks into our past and awakens us into the present. They shake and rattle us into seeing God’s plan for the future.

Well, we have modern poets and prophets among us! We all need to hear from these people. This Lent, we will continue the tradition of our Lenten Devotionals, consisting of 40 prophetic voices of the RCPC community who will be reflecting on the words of the prophets of old into our current days of new! We hope that as you journey through the Lenten season, these words from your friends will speak a word of God’s love and hope into your heart.

Make sure to check out the Saturdays of Lent! You will be awed by poems created by your church friends who attended the Taste and See Lenten Poetry class in 2024.
